Oakdale School is a play-based and developmental preschool where the teachers nurture not only a strong connection between school and home, but a strong sense of community amongst the children, as well. While in play, the children are given the time and space to explore and experiment with a wide variety of materials, take risks, resolve conflict, ask lots of questions, and think outside the box. Children learn, while in play, how to label and communicate their emotions, develop active listening, and develop their sense of empathy.

At Oakdale, intentional teaching, especially in the social and emotional realm, does not replace our play-based curriculum; it enhances it!
